UKS2

In KS2 here at Randlay Primary School & Nursery we aim to continue to create a warm, happy purposeful learning environment as in KS1, where each child will be stimulated and can acquire knowledge, skills and practical abilities through motivating themes of study.
As in KS1 the children will be taught as a class, in small groups and individually as appropriate. A high priority is given to support children to further develop their literacy, numeracy and independent learning skill in preparation for their transition from KS2 to KS3 at the end of years Y6. Our curriculum is carefully planned as a whole school to ensure continuity and progression for all.
Our school curriculum is comprised of the National Curriculum and a wider school curriculum.

The National Curriculum

The National Curriculum provides a clear, full and statutory entitlement to learning for all pupils.
We plan for the children's learning in the following subject areas:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Computing
  • Art and Design
  • Design and Technology
  • Geography
  • History
  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Religious Education
  • Personal, Social, Health Education

We use a range of resources to teach the curriculum.
We also enhance our curriculum through inviting visitors to school and undertaking educational visits. We also use our grounds to complete practical sessions for a range of curriculum areas including outdoor PE and after school clubs.
At Randlay Primary School & Nursery all children are encouraged to work at a level which is challenging to themselves, caters for the needs of the individual and will enable them to reach their full potential.

Doors open at 8.35am and school starts at 8.45am be on time.
