Base 11

Welcome to Base 11!

We are a mixed class of Year 1 and 2 children.

Our teacher is Mr. Nicholls.  Our teaching assistant is Mrs Massey.

On this page you can find information about our class and see examples of the amazing work we have been doing.

Here at Randlay we love to read! We recognise how important reading is as well as how exciting it can be!

In your child's reading diary, comments should be completed by a parent/carer at least four times a week. The children will receive a teacher comment once a week. In year 2 we encourage the children to start writing comments in their own diaries.

We check diaries every Thursday and reward raffle tickets to those children who have read at least four times. They are then entered into our 'Big Book Draw' in Friday's celebration assembly.

We are lucky to have excellent PE lessons at Randlay, delivered by the Crossbar coaches and class teachers.  This term our PE sessions will take place on Monday and Tuesdays.

The school P.E kit consists of a plain white t-shirt, navy blue or black shorts/joggers and plimsolls or trainers.  Children can come in their P.E kit on these days.

Homework is set every Friday and needs to be completed by the following Wednesday, so that it can be marked.

As well as homework, rehearsing time tables and counting is also really important.

For year one children: Practice counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

For year two children: Practice 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

The children also need to know the Common Exception words for Year 1 and 2. You can find a checklist for your year group below.
