Welcome to Maths at Randlay!
At Randlay Primary School and Nursery, our ethos of 'Working Together as One' is central to our Maths teaching and learning offer. This encompasses our core values of Respect, Collaboration, Aspiration, Courage, Excellence and Creativity. Through this, we ensure all pupils have opportunities to work as mathematicians, developing their knowledge across all aspects of the subject. Our delivery of 'White Rose Maths' is integral to our Maths curriculum offer, providing learners with meaningful opportunities to understand fluency and quick recall of known facts. In addition to this, learners develop their ability to reason and problem solve in depth, through the Expert Reasoner approach. Enhanced by our work alongside Kate Burton Mathematics, we ensure all learners are provided with opportunities to develop and embed mathematical knowledge, whilst skills are signposted, explored and applied at the appropriate level by each learner. As a result, our pupils develop great enthusiasm, resilience and self confidence across Maths, making powerful links to other aspects of the subject as well as links to other areas of learning. At Randlay Primary School, we value Maths highly and support purposeful opportunities across real life contexts, providing a rigorous whole school Maths curriculum offer.
