In all cases of absence, the law requires you to either telephone or send a note to explain why your child has been absent from school. We ask that you contact the school before 9.30am to register your child's absence. Verbal messages via the children are not acceptable. Lateness has to be registered as an unauthorised absence.
Please note that children WILL NOT BE released during the school day for dental treatment, hospital appointments, etc., unless the school is informed by the parent / guardian. This is in the interest of the children's safety.
Severe Weather Protocol
If the school is forced to close due to unforeseen circumstances, e.g. extreme weather conditions, an announcement will be made on Radio Shropshire. We shall also put on the school's twitter feed @RandlayPrimary if the school will be closed.
Every effort will be made to keep Randlay School open.
School Attendance
Children are required by law to attend school 190 days per year.
The Government states that every pupil’s attendance should be at least 95%
