The Farm Shop

This week we have been playing in our Farm Shop. We have practised naming different vegetables and taken turns at being the customer and shop keeper. We have also practised our mark making skills to write shopping lists.

Kandinsky Circles

The children have been learning about the properties of two dimensional shapes. As part of this work we looked at the art work of Kandinsky, studying his work on circles. The children have then tried to replicate this in their own paintings. Look at their brilliant work below.

Lunar New Year

This week we have been looking at ways that Lunar New Year is celebrated.

We have made paper lanterns, looked at Chinese symbols and copied them using inks, made and ate stir-fry and did our own dragon dance in the hall.

Colour fun!

We used the salad spinner to make patterns on Elmer. We loved seeing how the paints swirled around to make a pattern.

Decorating our Gingerbread men

We have been reading the story of The Gingerbread Man this week. We have decorated our own Gingerbread Men.

Little Explorers

We investigated what colours Mr. Wolf would be best to wear so that he would be hidden from the Three Little Pigs. We found out that green, brown and black were good colours.
