Class Systems

Reading for pleasure!

In year 2, we place a great emphasis on reading for pleasure and are always finding any opportunity within the school day to share a range of stories and texts to help nurture a love of reading.

We love to hear about the children’s favourite stories and have introduced a reading for pleasure book that the children can share at home. They will change this every Friday.

Individual Reading

Reading of your individual reading book should be completed at least four times per week and recorded with a comment in the reading diary.  Remember you will be entered into the reading raffle if this has been completed and all of your reading will help us in the weekly reading challenge to be the class to complete the most reads in school!!

Homework

We will send homework on a Friday and it needs to be returned by the following Thursday please. This will consist of the weekly spelling focus and learning our KIRF (Key Instant Recall Facts) focus.

P.E. – Tuesday and Thursday.

P.E. kits need to be worn every Tuesday & Thursday.

The school P.E. kit consists of a red Randlay logo T-shirt/plain red top, black PE shorts/plain black jogging bottoms and a black logo PE hoodie/plain black sweatshirt.
