Weekly Timetable
Week Six
|
Each week, you will need to aim to complete the online activities which are set out in the timetable below.
You are all working so hard and we are eager to ensure that we are able to see how you’re getting on each week. To do this, we will look at your activity through different platforms such as Spellzone, Bug Club and My Maths. We will also look at some of the other work set such as a piece of writing and a creative task.
To help us find out how you are getting on we would like you to complete the following as part of your remote learning activity:
- Spellzone: Complete four sessions a week.
- Bug Club: Access one book per week and complete the quizzes as you go.
- My Maths: Complete an assessment which relates to your maths focus for that week.
- Writing: Complete one written task and send this to your class teacher.
- Creative Curriculum: Complete one task and send it to your class teacher.
Your class teacher will respond when the tasks are completed and may get in touch if they need to.

Lesson Two
|
Creative Curriculum
Watch the video about Ibn Battuta and his amazing journey around the world. Then read the information in the PowerPoint (resources at the bottom of the page). Looking at the map of Ibn Battuta's journey and the labelled map of the world, can you list all the modern day countries Ibn Battuta visited on his journey? (Both maps available in resources below this table)
Some people argue that Battuta didn't complete his journey in the way that it was later told in the Rihla. Why might people doubt the authenticity of his account? Do you believe he completed the journey? Explain why or why not.

Safer Internet Day
This year our focus is, ‘Trust Online’. Can we trust everything we see online? Watch the Safer Internet Day virtual assembly to find out more.
Task One: Read through the Safer Internet scenario cards (see resources below). For each card, think about what you would do in that scenario. Do you agree/disagree with the actions? What would you do differently? In your book or one a piece of paper, write the heading for each scenario and then what you would do in that scenario underneath.
Task Two: Design an ‘Internet Detective’ poster to provide top tips about trust online. Use the prompts (see resources below) to remind you of the top tips.

Creative Curriculum
Islamic art often uses repeating
geometric patterns. Have a go at
creating your own pattern using
the instructions in the resources section at the bottom of this
page.
There is also a template if you want to use it.
It would be helpful if you could use a ruler for this lesson, but if not you can draw your pattern free hand.
